Guerrilla Games are keeping to their word and have already quick released a new patch for the amazing, yet buggy release of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. When the game launched on PC it was riddled with numerous bugs, some of which are game breaking before even fully launching the game. Guerrilla Games stated they would work on fixing as many bugs and possible and urged players that ran into problems to report the issues so they could work on them, showing their dedication to support this game port.
So patch 1.02 is here, what fixes can you be expected to see? List below:
Fixed an issue where some players would crash during their first game boot when the ‘game optimisation’ screen is active and they ran out of disc space.
Fixed an issue where some players would crash if they updated their video drivers after the game was already optimised previously.
Fixed an issue where some players would crash during game-play because of memory incorrectly being overwritten.
Fixed an issue where some players would crash during game-play due to a texture un-streaming bug.
Improved crash report flow and messaging. Each crash now includes an identifier you can use to communicate with our Customer Support.
Added more features to improve diagnostic data collection when submitting a crash report
They also stated that with the patch there are fixes to resolutions, v-sync issues and FPS limits. They haven't finished fixing the game yet! They are still pushing for people to post any problems encountered and are already working on more issues present in the game. Even though this patch has dropped, I'm still going to hold off from purchasing for another patch or two. I am impressed and have gained a large amount of respect for Guerrilla Games with their promises and determination to give us an amazing experience. I'm more excited than ever to play this game later this year.
If you're currently playing on PC, what issues have you run into, if any at all?
